My symbolic art is an evolving exploration of combining spiritual techniques and symbols from Vedic and Tantric traditions, the runic and stave sorcery of pre-Christian Norse traditions (preserved into the modern era mostly in Iceland), and the gnostic and alchemical traditions descended through various European traditions from the ancient Mediterranean mystery schools. My current approach to this exploration is something like a “mandala” or image meant to be contemplated as a spiritual exercise. Although these mandalas are obviously being expressed from my personal and subjective point of view, my hope is that - like all good mandalas - any individual could form a personal relationship with the images and therefore find insight through reflection on the content.
